URGENT: ASHRA supporters, we desperately
need your help with dogs in Snowflake

Please email me at HUSKYRESCUE@Q.COM if you can help or would like more info. I’m sure that many of you remember the summer of 2011 when we took in all of the puppies from Snowflake where a breeder got in over her head with accidental breedings when she developed health problems. The dogs we adopted out all had wonderful temperaments and were placed in good homes.

In 2011, all of the dogs that did not get homes were spayed and neutered and stayed with her. She has eight left now but she is being forced to move. Her health has continued to deteriorate and her home is being frequently vandalized by members of a meth gang. She cannot stay there and has nowhere to go with more than one dog. She has no one to even help her clean up because people are afraid to go out there.

The dogs that she has left are not young – the youngest is about 5, one of the puppies that she kept in 2011. Several are very senior but most are in good health. Taken out of their environment, they are going to be scared and shy. They may not easily integrate into another home, but they are friendly with people and other dogs. We would like to at least give them a chance.

The following are the dogs that need homes. Please let me know if you can help in any way or even if you know people in the Snowflake area who could help with cleanup and transportation.

Muneca – 14 years old – diabetic and blind
Sheroy – 14 years old – overweight and lazy, but healthy (he is the father of some of the 2011 puppies)
Redband – 12 years old – healthy and friendly (she is the mother of some of the 2011 puppies) Erica – 5 years old – petite female, very happy
Madison – 6 years old – very shy, especially with males
Jelly – Erica’s mother (not sure of the age) One longhair mixed breed

An Important Note from ASHRA

Due to various circumstances beyond our control, ASHRA is currently operating in a limited mode. Our organization has been very successful in rehabilitating and rehoming Siberian Huskies for over 2 decades and we have always taken pride in being the best at what we do. At this time, we are not able to be as responsive as we would like to be so we are taking a break from normal operations. We will continue to take applications for dogs that are currently on our website. Please note that the application fee for all applications has been waived. We will continue to check emails but we will not be posting referral dogs, taking in dogs or responding to questions about strays. All communication will be done by email. We will not be taking phone calls. This is not easy for us to do. ASHRA is an important part of our lives but we do not want to disappoint our supporters with poor performance.

Note: Our store is off-line at this time. ASHRA has an on-line store, where you can purchase a wide variety of products that benefit our rescue. Products, such as t-shirts and coffee mugs, feature great Siberian Husky artwork from Arizona artist Debra Jones. We now have ASHRA logo products, including bumper stickers - check it out!
